OVERVIEW

You may want to run a quick experiment to determine which system prompt or model parameters are best for your use-case. The Playground allows you to adjust these independently for each panel, or to apply the same settings to all panels at once.

SET A SYSTEM PROMPT

Click the gear icon in any panel header to open System Prompts. The dialog gives every open model its own column and its own text box, so each panel can carry a different instruction.
  • Leave a box empty to send no system message at all.
  • Click Apply to all on a column to copy that column’s text into every other column.
  • Click Update to commit. Closing the dialog any other way discards your edits.
System prompts apply to every request the panel makes from then on, including messages already in the conversation history.

TUNE SAMPLING PARAMETERS

Click the sliders icon in a panel header to open Model Parameters for that panel alone. Only the parameters the panel’s model actually accepts are shown, so the set differs by what sits behind the panel: Leave a field blank to omit it from the request entirely, in which case the model’s own default applies. Values outside the accepted range are rejected before the request is sent. Click Update to apply the parameters to this panel, or Apply to all to copy them to every panel. When you apply to all, any parameter a panel cannot use is dropped and any value outside that panel’s range is pulled to its nearest limit, so a comparison never fails because one model is stricter than another.
